Candace Degenstein

Candace Degenstein, ARNP, has been a Family Nurse Practitioner since 1993. Candace, who is originally from Canada, traveled across the United States for two years before completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Nursing and maternal/child care at the University of South Alabama in Mobile. She has a holistic approach toward families and enjoys educating and encouraging individuals to make informed health care decisions. She joined the Center for Women’s Health at Evergreen in 2005.

 

Carol Verga

Carol Verga, CNM, ARNP, is a Certified Nurse Midwife as well as an OB/GYN Nurse Practitioner. She finished her education with a Master’s Degree in Nursing from Columbia University. Carol practiced Nurse Midwifery in Ketchikan, Alaska where Carol received the first Nurse Practitioner license awarded in the state of Alaska. In 1979 Carol moved to Seattle and established the Nurse Midwifery program at Virginia Mason where she was Director of the program for nine years. Carol decided to limit her practice to the clinical area and moved to Springfield, Oregon to join an OB/GYN group. In 1991 Carol moved back to Seattle and joined The Center for Women’s Health at Evergreen. She sees patients from age 11 to 90. Carol does some primary care as well as the full range of gynecology. Her special interests are with vulvar and cervical disease.

 

Patti Quick-Showalter

Patti Quick-Showalter

Patti Quick-Showalter, PA-C, is a Certified Physician Assistant. She completed her undergraduate training in pre-med at Washburn University in Kansas and became a social worker with a specialty in child abuse. She returned to Wichita State University in 1976 and completed her second Bachelor of Science degree in the Physician Assistant/Allied Health Care program. Then in 1982 she began specializing in women's health care while working in obstetrics and gynecology in Seattle. She has completed many specialized courses in gynecology and obstetrics. In March 1990 she joined The Center for Women’s Health at Evergreen and continues to provide excellent care.
