Patient Education

Everyone on our staff is dedicated to patient education. Each exam room is equipped with a combination TV/VCR. We also have a patient education center, which offers dozens of patient education tapes on a variety of OB/GYN topics. There are resource books as well as patient handouts covering the broadest range of topics. TV/VCR’s are available for your use.

Education Center

The Dorothy Zabriskie Education Center is the symbol of our commitment to your education and care. The center offers hundreds of video tapes on various topics which can be viewed right in the education center or in the exam room. Many books as well as a multimedia interactive computer are available for your use.

Curious about health issues and would like to explore what is out there without having to go to the library? Or maybe you have just found out you're pregnant or have been diagnosed with breast cancer or a yeast infection and are not sure which questions to ask.

The staff at the Center for Women's Health at Evergreen has anticipated your needs by establishing a resource center that's easy to use and free for the asking.

Interactive Learning

There are two TV/VCRs available for you to view videos plus there are TV/VCRs in many exam rooms. Lists of the available tapes are located in the reception area and in each exam room. Just ask the receptionist or your nurse to give you the ones you would like to view. Topics cover gynecological, obstetrical, menopausal, and surgical procedures. There are even some fun videos to keep children occupied while mom has her exam. Most tapes range from 5 minutes to 55 minutes, with an average running time of about 20 minutes.

Computer & CD ROMS
You do not need to understand computers in order to check out the wealth of information found on CD ROMs. Simple instructions are found next to the computer in the education center or you can ask a receptionist to help you. Information on some of these CDs has far more than women's health and wellness issues on them. With just a point and a click, you can learn all sorts of interesting facts that affect your whole family.

Reading Library
Maybe you would like to take a little more time to read about something in depth. Feel free to check out books relating to the subjects you are interested in, pick up a pamphlet, or look through file folders containing information on prescription and over-the-counter drugs.
